Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home 🏡

Salary: Approx. £37,620 basic salary + sleep-ins
Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 160 hours per month ⏰
Employment Type: Permanent
Sleep-ins: £45 per sleep
Service: Children's Residential Home
Service Users: Children and young people aged 8–17 with EBD
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Children's & Young People's Workforce and QCF Level 5 Leadership/Management, or willingness to work towards Level 5
The Home:
This is a 4-bed children's residential home in Derby, supporting young people aged 8–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The home provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment with a strong focus on safeguarding, consistency, and positive outcomes.

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a confident and supportive Deputy Manager to work closely with the Registered Manager and help lead the home day-to-day.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Registered Manager with the smooth running of the home
• Leading shifts and modelling high standards of care and safeguarding practice
• Mentoring, coaching, and supervising staff to ensure consistent delivery
• Supporting care planning, risk management, key work, and placement stability
• Maintaining accurate recording and contributing to inspection readiness
• Building a positive culture where young people feel safe, listened to, and supported
Experience Required: Experience within an Ofsted-registered children's residential home and a strong understanding of safeguarding and residential childcare practice.
