Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Deputy Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for supporting the IT Manager with the management and performance of the organisation’s technology and network systems. Additionally, the Deputy IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the personnel management of the IT systems administrator team. The Deputy IT Manager helps oversees all technology infrastructure and operations, ensuring all processes and procedure adhere to company, site, and security policies and regulations.
The Deputy IT Manager analyses the schematics and specifications of site unclassified computer systems, maintains safety and security across all networks, and oversees the day-to-day operations and technical support required by IT associated projects. The Deputy IT manager must have extensive knowledge of the technology industry and required skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the direct management of the IT systems administrator team, providing leadership, operational and performance management, and overall direction. Responsible for the performance, functionality and reliability of applications and related systems. Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of IT to ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of data. Conduct technical implementation, configuration, monitoring, audit, administration, and support. Implementation of industry standard ITIL aligned Service Desk support processes. Plan and manage implementation and integration of new technologies. Budget, resource planning and improving work instructions for system support. Maintain the risk Management Framework and systems ATO status. Maintains safety and security across all networks, and oversees the day-to-day operations and technical support required by IT associated projects. Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision. Any other reasonable duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Essential:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, I.T. Systems Management, Technical Project Management, or related fields or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Field: Relevant or related discipline.
Desirable:
  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Field: Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, or other relevant discipline.
TICKETS AND LICENCES
Minimum Essential:
  • Drivers Licence.
  • Security +.
  • Related advanced IT certification.
Desirable:
  • Microsoft Certification.
  • Linux Certification.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS (Minimum Essential)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology.
  • Working knowledge of IT business systems and integrated software applications.
  • Experience managing I.T. projects, technology refreshes, and small teams.
  • Familiarity with RMF and I.T. security regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to change and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Positive outlook and willingness to collaborate with others to achieve business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated customer focus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Officer operating system.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
All personnel assigned shall be:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English.
EHS REQUIREMENT
All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the EHS Handbook, each person is responsible for:
  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner.
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager.
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook during the performance of their work.
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment.
