Chanel are now recruiting Deputy Head of Boutique – Watches & Fine Jewelry for Melbourne Fashion and Watches and Fine Jewelry.

The Market Street boutique will showcase Chanel’s luxury leadership in Australia, delivering a client experience unlike any other, whilst enhancing sophistication across all areas. The Watch and Fine Jewelry Boutique is positioned as the key CHANEL difference that defines the Client Relationship and Experience with the Brand.

YOUR PURPOSE.

The Deputy Head of Boutique – Watch and Fine Jewelry will inspire, lead, shape and develop teams to ensure this objective is delivered seamlessly, positioning the Watch and Fine Jewelry Advisor at the heart of the relationships with our clients. They will have strong relationship building and influencing skills, ensuring collaboration and integration of teams to deliver on this mission. They will drive the boutique performance across all five performance drivers – Leadership & People Strength; Client Engagement; Brand Performance; Financial Health and Sustainability.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Work with the Head of Boutique, Senior Business Manager – Watch and Fine Jewelry and General Manager – Fashion & WFJ Divisions to define the unique strategy, vision and mission for the Flinders Lane Watch and Fine Jewelry boutique.

  • Work with People and Organization to ensure team is equipped to deliver on the vision, covering both capability and capacity and ensuring the conditions to deliver on the Client Relational Promise.

  • Monitor and forecast financial targets on a daily / weekly / monthly basis for the team. Analyze measurable statistics and take appropriate actions and / or inform relevant stakeholders.

  • Maximize the effectiveness of the boutique ecosystem by creating a culture of collective performance and collaboration, supporting and engaging cross-métier specialization roles in the boutique (e.g. Visual Merchandising, Retail Learning and Development, Marketing).

  • Foster a positive working environment and create a culture of feedback, encouraging diversity, mutual respect and teamwork, actively manage performance and address underperformance and proactively address and resolve employee relations matter, engaging Head of Retail and People and Organization as appropriate.

  • Ensure unsurpassed client experience through innovative and retail excellence that exceed client expectations. Ensure that service provided is in line with company and cross boutique practices.

  • Work closely with the Senior Business Manager – Watch and Fine Jewelry and / or Merchandising team to ensure that the boutique is stocked with an appropriate depth and width of merchandise.

  • Reduce waste in the boutique, embed Sustainability in all activities and encourage boutique team to drive initiatives and share suggestions to advance the topic.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will be a dynamic, transformative, and credible business leader with at least 5 years’ experience managing a Flagship Boutique of an international luxury brand, preferably within the high-end watch or Jewelry industry. You will have strong business acumen and will be skilled at understanding and leveraging the levers that will drive holistic performance in a luxury retail environment, encouraging a culture of innovation. You will be a seasoned business leader, who is comfortable and capable in galvanizing partnerships, working through influence not authority and collaborating in a matrix ecosystem.

You will role model for the ANZ market and will make an impact beyond your own boutique. Additionally, we are seeking;

  • A bachelor level qualification in Business, Luxury Management, Fashion or related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of the luxury industry with fashion sensitivity consistent with the brand

  • Passion for the Watch and Fine Jewelry category, High End

  • Previous working experience in Luxury Watches and Fine Jewelry combined with a strong understanding of the High End Jewelry Client profile, and how to build successful relationships based around their shopping preferences.

  • GIA or FFH Certification would be highly advantageous.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills along with a strong analytic approach

  • Well-developed strategic leadership skills from a luxury retail environment and proven ability to lead and motivate people, and the capability to manage a business through leveraging teams.
