Deputy General Manager - GTL

Air Products Uzbekistan | 📍 Karshi, Uzbekistan

🏭 Join one of the largest industrial gas production facilities in the Europe and Africa region.

Air Products is seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager GTL to support the General Manager in leading safe, reliable, compliant, and profitable operations at our world-class GTL facility in Karshi, Uzbekistan.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role across operations, technical services, maintenance, EHS, commercial activities, and customer relationships while driving operational excellence and business performance.

🏭 About the Facility

The Air Products GTL plant in Karshi features:

➤ Two Air Separation Units (ASU) with a capacity of 4,200 tons/day each

➤ Two Topsoe Auto Thermal Reformers (ATR)

➤ One Steam Methane Reformer (SMR)

➤ Approximately 170 employees across operations and support functions

🎯 Key Responsibilities

✔️ Support the General Manager in delivering strategic and operational objectives

✔️ Coordinate annual operating plans, budgets, and improvement initiatives

✔️ Align Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Commercial, and Support teams

✔️ Drive operational excellence, reliability, and performance improvement programmes

✔️ Lead cross-functional projects focused on safety, efficiency, and cost optimisation

✔️ Strengthen governance, operational discipline, and process compliance

✔️ Manage stakeholder, customer, and partner relationships

✔️ Support talent development, succession planning, and organisational effectiveness

✔️ Represent the General Manager during periods of absence

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

✅ Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial

✅ Engineering, or related discipline

✅ Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in industrial, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, or energy facilities

✅ Proven experience leading complex operations and multidisciplinary teams

✅ Strong knowledge of asset reliability, maintenance, operational excellence, and safety management systems

✅ Experience with SMR and ASU technologies is essential

Strong commercial, financial, and stakeholder management skills

✅ Fluent English required

✅ Russian and/or Uzbek language skills preferred

✅ Willingness to relocate to Karshi, Uzbekistan

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

➕ MBA or Master's Degree

➕ PMP Certification

➕ Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), CMRP, or equivalent

➕ Lean Six Sigma Certification

➕ Process Safety Management Certification

➕ IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications
