
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Head of Legal & Advisory in overseeing and managing the Group Legal & Advisory’s functions and activities in relation to corporate, banking and subsidiary company matters to ensure KPJHB and its group of companies’ legal rights are protected.
Lead, coach and mentor the team of legal professionals’ subordinates, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous learning.
Provide legal advice to KPJHB and its group of companies on operational matters to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and corporate governance requirements.
Negotiate, draft and review contracts, agreements and other legal documents with regards to operational contract including its implementation for KPJHB and its group of companies.
Communicate and negotiate with external parties on operational matters, if required.
Liaise with external counsel to manage litigation matters effectively, including dispute resolution and litigation strategy, for KPJHB and its group of companies.
Monitor the on-going litigation cases.
Member for the relevant committee in KPJHB and its group of companies as representative of Group Legal & Advisory.
Prepare and update the relevant legal report.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide legal guidance and support on various matters.
Identify and assess the legal risks associated with operational matters and develop strategies to mitigate such risks.
Assists inter departments to develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
Manage the legal due diligence exercise for operational matters.
Conduct legal research and keep abreast of development and updates in relevant laws and regulations applicable to KPJHB and its group of companies’.
Attending meetings and discussions with the management of KPJHB and its group of companies’ external lawyers, relevant authorities and external parties to discuss, resolve or finalise any issues.
Provide legal support in relation to KPJHB and its group of companies’ day to day operations and implementation of agreements.
Conduct and coordinate legal training to internal and external parties.
Attending to all other general legal duties.
Execute any work as and when instructed by the Head of Group Legal & Advisory or any other senior management of KPJHB and its group of companies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution (local or foreign) or an equivalent degree in a related field.
Master of Laws (LL.M) (optional) – Specialization in areas such as Corporate Law, Commercial Law, or International Law.
Advanced Executive Programs / MBA (optional) – For leadership and business management exposure.
Admission to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is an advantage
