Our Client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint experienced professionals for the following role:
DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER – CORPORATE BRAND, COMMUNICATIONS & DIGITAL
Role Purpose:
Custodian of the Company Masterbrand. Leads the integrated brand, communications, and digital agenda — spanning brand management, events, sponsorships, corporate communication, publications, and content — to build brand equity, protect corporate reputation, and deepen engagement with consumers, media, government, investors, and employees, positioning Company as a progressive, digitally forward energy Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy – Define and execute the multi-year Masterbrand strategy, architecture, and annual brand, communication, and digital plans; advise leadership on brand and reputation implications of key corporate decisions.
- Brand Management – Govern brand identity, positioning, and visual standards across all touchpoints; use brand health and perception studies to steer integrated ATL/BTL/digital campaigns.
- Communication & Reputation – Direct media relations, public relations, and crisis & issues communication; oversee executive, internal, and thought-leadership communication programs.
- Events & Sponsorships – Curate corporate events, sponsorships, and partnerships aligned with brand strategy, with clear effectiveness and ROI measurement.
- Digital & Content – Own the corporate website, social media, and an always-on content engine; leverage analytics, SEO/SEM, and marketing technology (incl. AI tools) to optimize reach and engagement.
- Publications – Direct flagship publications — annual and sustainability reports, newsletters, and corporate collateral — to global design and disclosure standards.
- Budget & Vendors – Own the departmental budget; manage creative, media, digital, PR, and event agencies on performance-based, policy-compliant terms.
- People & Governance – Build and develop a high-performing team; ensure legal, regulatory, and policy compliance across all communication; perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Brand equity, awareness, and consideration scores; corporate reputation index and share of voice versus peers.
- Digital performance — audience growth, engagement rate, website traffic, and content effectiveness.
- Sponsorship and event ROI; campaign delivery on time, on brief, and on budget; budget utilization and efficiency.
- Crisis response readiness and turnaround; employee engagement with internal communication.
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Executive leadership, business unit heads, HR, Investor Relations, Legal & Compliance, Procurement, CSR/Sustainability.
External: Media and journalists; creative, media, digital, and PR agencies; event partners and sponsors; industry bodies; government and regulatory stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree (minimum 16 years of education) from an HEC-recognized or reputable foreign university in Marketing, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline; certifications in brand, digital, or corporate communication (e.g., CIM, Google/Meta, IABC) an advantage.
- 8 – 10 years of progressive experience in brand management, corporate communication, or integrated marketing, including 5 – 7 years in a leadership role at the same level (or one level below), preferably with a leading national or multinational organization.
- Proven Masterbrand or corporate-level brand leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (energy, FMCG, telecom, banking, or comparable), with hands-on digital transformation exposure.
