Job Purpose: The CA Commercial Zonal Head is responsible for managing Mine Development Operator (MDO) contracts, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and timelines. They act as a liaison between the mine owner and the MDO, coordinating with various teams to facilitate project execution, secure necessary permissions, and resolve any ambiguities or disputes. The Zonal Head ensures all tasks are completed on time, safeguards parties against regulatory issues, and manages financial transactions related to the project.

Commercial Zonal Lead - Mining

Contract Management and Compliance:

Thorough review and understanding of Coal BlockorMine Development and Production Agreement (CBDPAorCMDPA) of commercial coal blocks with Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal and Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) contracts with Mine Owner PSUs and ensuring compliance thereof

Monitor compliance with time-bound obligations of CBDPAorCMDPA and MDO Contracts and manage contract documentation and updates

Facilitate adherence to contractual clausesorobligations as per CBDPAorCMDPA and MDO contracts

Coordination and Liaison:

Interface with Central Government (Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal) for commercial coal blocks and between the Mine Owner and MDO for compliance of contractual obligations

Sensitize team members and stakeholders about their responsibilities and ensure smooth communication and cooperation among all parties.

Stakeholder Management:

Coordinate with various departments such as site team (Chief of Cluster, Site Head), Project Monitoring team, admin, environment, legal, finance & accounting, and mine planning as per contract timelines, ensuring tasks are completed as per contract timelines .

Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration for project success by leading meetings and status updates, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment with project goals.

Financial Oversight:

Ensure accurate calculation of mining fees, other financial obligations, and overseeing payment collection and reconciliation.

Safeguard against contractual penalties and defaults by educating stakeholders about compliance requirements

Risk and Opportunity Management and Dispute Resolution:

Assist CA Head in identifying potential opportunities for revenue maximisation

Identify and mitigate potential risks related to contract execution by working with the internal stakeholders to anticipate and resolve disputes and preparing strategies to handle ambiguities and potential issues.

Maintain proactive communication to prevent conflicts, ensuring all parties understand their contractual obligations, mediating disputes, and providing solutions to avoid project delays.

Contractual correspondence, Reporting and Record-Keeping:

Ensure contractual analysis, preparation and submission of periodic reports and contractual correspondences including timely notificationorreplies to client

Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation for all contract-related activities.

Ensure reconciliation of billing details and financial transactions to ensure transparency and accuracy.
