Job Purpose: Lead - Container Terminal - Sales is tasked with spearheading sales and marketing strategies to optimize the utilization of the port's capacity, expand the company's market presence, and grow revenue. This role is focused on attracting new customers and retaining existing ones by offering innovative and tailored solutions, thereby ensuring the port's sustainability and growth. The Lead is responsible for increasing the client base and fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders in the shipping and logistics industry.

Opportunity Identification:

Proactively identify and engage potential customers for the container terminal, showcasing the port's services and capabilities to expand the client base.

Brand Management:

Run industry-specific marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency and enhancing the company's image through strategic content.

Sales Management:

Meet or exceed the budgeted targets for container terminal volume and revenue, contributing to the port's financial success.

Market Intelligence:

Analyze competitors to identify business growth opportunities and leverage insights to influence customer decisions positively.

Contract Management:

Transform leads and opportunities into contracts by preparing competitive commercial offers, negotiating with customers, and finalizing new business agreements. Re-negotiate existing contracts to include more favorable terms and conditions that align with both the port's and customers' needs.

Customer Service:

Address customer inquiries related to operations, finance, or other areas, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and service.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with BCOs, CHAs, vessel agents, and cargo suppliers to drive business growth and expand the port's network.

Operational Procedures Guidance:

Educate customers on Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and customs procedures to facilitate seamless operations at the Exim yard and Direct Port Delivery (DPD).

DPD Promotion:

Regularly communicate the benefits of DPD clearance from the port to customers, aiming to increase revenue and market share at the DPD facility.

Accounts Receivable Management:

Monitor and ensure the collection of all pending dues from customers as per contractual agreements.

Digital Mindset:

Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.

Team Development:

Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.

Key Stakeholders - Internal:

CEO - Ports, Head - Business Development - Container Terminal, Other Departments - HoDs, Direct reportees

Key Stakeholders - External:

Prospective clients, government and regulatory bodies, Trade groups, Comptetiors

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(degree, training, or certification required)


MBA or PGDM in Sales & Marketing RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)
12-18 years in Container Marketing Domain
