The Deputy General Manager - CHP Commissioning will be entrusted with the comprehensive management and successful execution of CHP commissioning activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate all activities related to the commissioning of CHP plants, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans and procedures, aligning with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth transition from construction to commissioning and operations phases.
- Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of CHP systems including boilers, turbines, generators, heat recovery systems, control systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure stringent safety standards and environmental compliance are met during all commissioning activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks and implementing best practices to enhance commissioning efficiency and reliability.
- Liaise with equipment vendors, contractors, and third-party agencies to coordinate resources, resolve technical issues, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, prepare comprehensive status reports, and communicate critical updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize operational disruptions and ensure timely project completion.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and training sessions for operations and maintenance teams to build capability for smooth plant operations post-commissioning.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and innovation in line with Adani’s core values.
- Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing CHP performance to maximize energy efficiency and reduce environmental footprint.
- Lead root cause analysis in case of commissioning setbacks and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Champion adherence to Adani’s ethical standards, safety culture, and corporate governance policies.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and commissioning staff, promoting a learning environment and talent growth within the organization.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field. - Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Management will be an advantage.
Certification Required
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification is preferred. - Safety certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is desirable. - Relevant technical certifications in power plant operations or commissioning will be an asset.
