
The NYU School of Law’s Center for Labor and Employment Law (the Labor Center) and Institute of Judicial Administration (IJA) are seeking a single Deputy Director.
About Our Centers The Labor Center was created in 1996 as a nonpartisan forum for discussion of policy and legal issues involving the employment relationship. IJA, founded in 1952, is a leader in judicial education and offers a forum for nonpartisan thinking about the administration of justice. Samuel Estreicher, Dwight D. Opperman Professor of Law is the Faculty Director of both centers. Both centers have active advisory boards comprised of leading jurists, practitioners, and scholars. Both are highly-regarded organizations supporting research, liaising with courts, attorneys, and decision-makers, and fostering nonpartisan dialogue on issues of public policy.
This is an opportunity to work in the vibrant NYU Law School community. You would be part of a small and flexible team, working with the Faculty Director and Executive Director on all aspects of center operations, initiatives, and development. The Deputy Director will also oversee and receive help from undergraduate interns.

This position is full-time with expectation to be in the office up to four days a week. Additional work from home is at the discretion of the Executive Director and Faculty Director.

Employment is at-will and subject to periodic performance and funding reviews. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $78,000-$93,000 plus benefits. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) a law degree, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
