We are looking for an experienced Financial Sector Policy & Institutional Partnerships Manager to build strong relationships with financial-sector stakeholders, identify industry challenges, support policy advocacy initiatives, and develop strategic institutional partnerships.
The role will involve engaging with financial-sector committees, regional taskforces, government and regulatory stakeholders, and senior industry leaders to understand emerging business issues and translate stakeholder inputs into meaningful policy and industry initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong relationship-management capabilities with an understanding of financial-sector policy, economics, and industry dynamics.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with members of financial-sector committees, regional committees, and industry taskforces to understand their business challenges, concerns, and recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the banking, financial services, insurance, fintech, and broader financial ecosystem.
- Identify emerging industry issues and areas requiring policy advocacy and regulatory intervention.
- Gather stakeholder inputs on policy and regulatory matters and communicate relevant insights to leadership teams for further advocacy and policy reform.
- Coordinate interactions with government authorities, regulators, policymakers, and senior financial-sector leaders.
- Strategically identify, develop, and maintain institutional partnerships with relevant organisations and industry stakeholders.
- Organise and manage workshops, committee meetings, industry interactions, webinars, roundtables, and other stakeholder-focused events.
- Support the planning and execution of senior-level events, closed-door luncheons, delegations, and industry forums.
- Develop initiatives that provide meaningful value and engagement opportunities for members.
- Drive member engagement through regular meetings, industry interactions, events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to attract and onboard new members and strengthen existing institutional relationships.
- Support fundraising initiatives and ensure relevant events and industry activities are planned and executed in a commercially sustainable manner.
- Coordinate with central and regional teams to ensure effective planning, stakeholder communication, and execution of activities.
- Track industry developments, policy changes, regulatory developments, and emerging financial-sector trends.
- Prepare stakeholder insights, policy inputs, meeting briefs, and relevant reports for senior leadership.
- Represent the organisation professionally in meetings and industry forums and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to convert industry feedback into actionable policy, engagement, and partnership initiatives.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services, public policy, government relations, industry associations, institutional partnerships, economic research, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the financial sector, including contemporary industry issues, regulatory developments, and business challenges.
- Proven experience engaging with senior financial-sector stakeholders, government bodies, regulators, policymakers, or industry leaders.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship-management capabilities with the ability to build long-term institutional relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of policy advocacy, regulatory affairs, public policy, or industry representation.
- Experience identifying policy issues and translating stakeholder concerns into structured recommendations or advocacy initiatives.
- Strong experience organising industry workshops, committee meetings, roundtables, conferences, webinars, and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to identify and establish strategic institutional partnerships that create long-term value.
- Strong networking and member-engagement skills with the ability to onboard and retain institutional stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing initiatives with budgets, fundraising, revenue, or profitability considerations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, coordination, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with central, regional, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to understand complex industry and policy issues.
- A Masterโs degree in Public Policy, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong professionalism, maturity, discretion, and ability to represent an organisation in high-level stakeholder engagements.
