It is an exciting time to join the Alumni and Supporter Experience team that provides an innovative engagement program for a community ofclose to 500,000people.
To support our ambitions for enhanced alumni and donor engagement, we are investing in our capacity and now seek a Deputy Director, Advancement Eventswho will provide strategic leadership for the design, delivery and continuous optimisation of a comprehensive, insight-led events portfolio that advances the University’s engagement, reputation and philanthropic objectives.
The role directs the creation of meaningful and impactful events that ignite alumni pride, build strong community relations, garnerpressand brand awareness, and serve as a motivational driver for alumniand donorsto reconnect with the University of Sydney.

The roleis responsible fordevisinga strategic suite of events that caters to our highly diverse audience of alumni anddonors, andaligns with the University’s 2032 Strategy and Forgoodcampaign

About you

has proven experience inleadingthe delivery of a broad range of eventsand detailed knowledge of event management and strategy including formal event protocols and management of dignitaries and high profile individuals
isa confident stakeholder manager with a passion for building andmaintainingrelationships
is highly creative and innovative in how they devise and deliver events
has advanced verbal and written skills with a keen attention to detail
haspreviousproject management and administration experience
has anatural ability to think critically and resolve complex issues
has high-level organisational and time management skills, including ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure
hasthe ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing event environment
experience leading, directing and mentoring a team of professionals to achieve high standards of client service delivery and teamwork.
