Jadeer is hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Deputy Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Job Purpose
The Deputy Chief Supply Chain Officer will support the Chief Material Management Officer in leading the end-to-end Supply Chain function, including Planning, Procurement, Inventory, Logistics, and Supplier Management.
The role is responsible for ensuring supply continuity, cost efficiency, strong governance, and effective coordination across Supply Chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Leadership
- Support the development and execution of the Supply Chain strategy.
- Integrate Planning, Procurement, Inventory, and Logistics activities.
- Drive governance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the function.
Planning & Procurement
- Oversee material and supply planning based on operational and project requirements.
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and procurement activities.
- Identify supply risks and ensure timely resolution of shortages and delays.
Logistics & Inventory
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, and material movement.
- Optimize inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Improve logistics costs, inventory turnover, and working capital efficiency.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance.
- Support contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and supplier risk management.
- Develop sourcing strategies for critical materials and services.
Performance & Transformation
- Monitor Supply Chain KPIs, costs, risks, and service levels.
- Drive process improvement, automation, ERP utilization, data analytics, and digitalization.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior management.
Leadership & Succession
- Act as deputy to the Chief Material Management Officer when required.
- Support strategic decision-making and major Supply Chain initiatives.
- Develop Supply Chain teams and support succession planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
Experience
- 20+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Material Management, Logistics, or related functions.
- Strong senior leadership experience across multiple Supply Chain disciplines.
- Proven experience in Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Inventory, Supplier Management, and Contract Management.
- Experience in energy, utilities, oil & gas, industrial, infrastructure, or project-based environments is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, transformation, process improvement, or Supply Chain digitalization is an advantage.
