We’re looking for a Deputy Chief Accountant to support the Chief Accountant in overseeing day‑to‑day accounting activities and financial closing processes.
The position is a maternity cover.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the company’s accounting activities in compliance with Bulgarian legislation, IFRS, and Pluxee Group standards
- Lead and coordinate the accounting closing process (monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual)
- Review, analyze, and validate accounting data and balances
- Prepare accounting reports and support the preparation of Annual Financial Statements
- Oversee accounting for revenues and expenses, bank transactions, customers and suppliers, fixed assets, inventories, and reconciliations
- Prepare and validate VAT returns, tax returns, financial statements, and statutory statistical reports
- Act as a point of contact for external institutions and partners, including NRA, BNB, NSI, auditors, banks, lawyers, and ERP/Navision consultants
- Monitor task execution within the accounting team and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation
- Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial processes and company operations
- Previous experience in a multinational or international company is considered a strong advantage
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proactive, results-oriented, and reliable approach
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Very good command of MS Office
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of Navision would be considered a plus
