Your Role

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and testing of electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical equipment used in the Petro-Chemical industry in major refineries and independent laboratories according to ASTM methods. Position is located in Northwest Houston and may require minimal domestic/international travel.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and related equipment.
  • Operate test apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate, and record effects of actual or simulated conditions such as flash point, distillation, cold properties, evaporative loss, viscosity, vibration as well as other physical properties testing and/or determine through testing methods an elemental diagnosis such as quantity of sulfur, nitrogen, fluoride, etc.
  • Use computerized equipment, test equipment, and software to perform testing functions.
  • Manage inventory assigned for repairs to ensure accuracy of individual and main warehouse.
  • Ensure inventory is properly documented for transfer before and after repair.
  • Maintains and expands knowledge of product specifications as assigned.
  • Promote good customer relations.
  • Observe safety policies and procedures within Company and at customer sites.
  • Provide status report to customers via email or phone weekly.
  • Complete work orders, administrative tasks and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Submit Net Promoter Score survey on a weekly basis.
  • Provides telephone support as needed.
  • Service may be performed at customer site or in-house.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or Technical degree from two-year college or technical school
  • 5+ years of experience in the process automations/instrumentation/analytics industry (or similar), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of specific PAC product lines or similar products preferred.
  • Familiarity with analytics industry, products, and customer groups preferred.
  • Possesses technical aptitude.
  • Ability to successfully interact with customers.
  • Proficiency with computer, including ERP applications.
  • Basic lab chemistry experience is preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock when in the operations or laboratory areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
