H-Power is a UK-based, AIM-listed clean energy company developing zero-emissions hydrogen power systems. Using ammonia to produce low-carbon hydrogen at the point of need, and fuel cells to convert it into reliable, off-grid power, H-Power offers a scalable, practical alternative to fossil fuels, serving construction, infrastructure, transport and power generation sectors.
Behind the technology is a team driven by a shared purpose: to accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels.
The Role
As a Deployment Technician, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, operating and supporting H-Power's hydrogen fuel cell systems at customer sites across the UK and internationally. This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service role that combines technical problem solving with regular travel, supporting the successful deployment of cutting-edge clean energy technology.
When not on customer sites, you'll work from H-Power's Surrey facility preparing systems for future deployments, supporting testing and commissioning activities, monitoring operational data, maintaining equipment and stock, and contributing to continuous improvement of deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:
· Install, commission, operate and remove hydrogen fuel cell systems at customer sites across the UK and internationally.
· Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and technical support on deployed equipment.
· Coordinate the loading, transportation and positioning of deployment equipment in accordance with site and regulatory requirements.
· Prepare hydrogen fuel cell systems and associated equipment for field deployment.
· Complete deployment documentation including installation records, checklists, RAMS and service reports.
· Work closely with engineering teams to investigate and resolve technical issues identified in the field.
· Carry out customer site surveys to assess future deployment opportunities.
· Support customer training and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.
· Monitor deployed systems, collect operational data and contribute to continuous product improvement.
· Ensure all deployment activities comply with company procedures, health & safety standards and relevant site regulations.
Deployment Technician
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a field service, deployment, commissioning or installation engineering role.
· Hands-on engineering background with an electrical bias preferred.
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
· Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and engineering teams.
· Safety-focused with a professional approach to working on customer sites.
· Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, hydrogen fuel cells or compressed gases would be advantageous.
· Knowledge of DSEAR, CDM or hydrogen safety regulations would be beneficial but is not essential.
