About the Role

As a Deployment Strategist at Promise, you own real world outcomes. You'll work hand in hand with government and utility customers to deeply understand their problems, then find solutions that actually deliver results.

This is a hands-on role that blends several skillsets: delivering an excellent customer experience, deeply understanding a real world problem, holding a bar for disciplined execution across the team, and driving business growth. The people who succeed here show up, get into the details, deliver, and leave customers who remember them.

You'll need to operate comfortably without a lot of structure. We move fast and figure things out as we go. If you need a defined process handed to you before you can execute, this isn't the right seat.

What you'll do

• Own the customer relationship end to end, from implementation through renewal and expansion. Be the person the customer trusts and wants in the room, and the person internally who's easy to work with too.
• Read the room, both the customer's team and your own. Understand who has influence, who's a blocker, and how to move a project forward politically as well as technically.
• Get into the weeds of the customer's data and operations until you understand their business as well as they do.
• Be technically fluent enough to partner closely with Forward Deployed Engineers on delivery and innovation.
• Drive customer work through a lens of revenue growth. You should be able to explain the health of an account in financial terms, not just delivery or project status.
• Run projects with real discipline. Track detail, hit milestones, and don't let things slip.
• Surface what you're seeing in the field to influence product. You're close to the customer, which makes you a source of real signal.

What will help you succeed

• 3-10 years in a role where you actually drove outcomes, not just managed process. Consulting, implementation, or customer-facing delivery, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or govtech.
• A track record of building things without being told to, and getting comfortable in ambiguity fast. If your background is a large, slow, highly structured organization, be honest with yourself about whether you'll thrive here.
• Genuine likability. Customers and colleagues should want to work with you, not just respect your output.
• Comfort with budgets and numbers. You should be fluent enough in revenue and account economics to make decisions with them, not just report them.
• Willingness to travel and be onsite. Some of the best work here happens in person, and it's part of the job.
• The instinct to want this exact role. We're looking for someone who wants to go deep on deployment and customer impact, not someone using this as a stepping stone into engineering or product.
