This position is responsible for determination of ability to pay for all patients under the Michigan Mental Health Code. Coordinate and monitor services billed to patients and cash posting of service generated revenue to first party accounts. Manage and coordinate daily Accounting operations. Oversee daily mail room operations. Ensure patients medical claims are processed accurately and timely. Operational oversight of the Patient Trust Fund accounts.

Examples of duties

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Qualifications

Possession of any of the following (note, experience must be gained in any of the following areas to qualify: Health Services Administration, the former Medical Services Administration, Policy, Planning & Operational Support Administration, Legislative Services Administration; the former Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities; the former Aging & Adult Services Agency, Financial Operations Administration; or the Director's Office):

A bachelor's degree in any major and at least two (2) years of experience as a Departmental Supervisor 11;

OR

A bachelor's degree in any major and at least one (1) year of experience as a Departmental Supervisor 12, 13, or 14;

OR

Education level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least four (4) years of experience as a Departmental Supervisor 11;

OR

Education level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three (3) years of experience as a Departmental Supervisor 12, 13, or 14?

Supplemental information

Position Location Office: The physical location of this position is 1312 Oakland Drive. Kalamazoo, MI. The selected candidate will be required to report in person.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
