This position will be responsible for maintaining the Radiation Safety Section’s (RSS) Accela database system (Accela). This position will work with the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) to ensure Accela version updates function properly and to ensure necessary parameters are submitted to DTMB for enhancements, issue resolution (bugs) and following the process – from testing through release to production. This position will also be responsible for maintaining security of Accela.

This position will be responsible for creating and generating reports for various aspects of Accela and conducting statistical analysis of those reports. A statistical analysis of reports is needed to facilitate the work being performed by technical staff – physicists conducting inspections, registration staff processing applications, renewals and amendments and staff reviewing radiation shielding plans; as well as reviewing and analyzing reports related to inspection and registration data.

Position Description Summary

There is a possibility of a remote/hybrid schedule based on performance and operational need. However, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.

Examples of duties

Applicants can qualify for this position by meeting ANY of the following

  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Professional level experience in the state classified service; or one year of experience in a professional trainee classification in the state classified service; or six months of experience as a Senior Executive Management Assistant 11, 13, or 15 in the state classified service.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
