Position Title:
Department Secretary
Position Purpose:
Serves as general receptionist, clerical and secretarial person for the Radiology Department. Ages served range from newborn to geriatric.
Hours:
Part Time
20 hours/week
Job Duties:
Communicates in a professional manner with physicians, physician offices, nursing units, ancillary caregivers, patients, and families.
Uses proper phone etiquette.
Maintains inventory of forms and supplies.
Communicates with physicians, hospital personnel, patients and public on a daily basis.
Maintains files and records for Radiology.
Coordinates the scheduling of various tests ordered by physicians and physician offices.
Completes work in an accurate and timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must have knowledge of the different software programs.
Training in medical terminology, filing systems, care of medical records, advanced typing, operations of office machines, grammar, and correspondence procedures.
Must have working knowledge of office equipment.
