
The Department of Adult Education invites applications for a 12-month limited term appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Adult Education. The start date is as early as July 1, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will have a completed or nearly completed doctorate in Adult Education or a related field, experience working with adult learners in an educational setting, and teaching experience with both synchronous and asynchronous online learning environments. An emerging or established research agenda is preferred and expertise and experience in health and adult learning will be considered an asset.
The Department is seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFX’s priorities of equity, diversity, and inclusion. This position is situated in a high-performing department with a strong, collaborative faculty environment.

This program is based in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and it is expected the successful candidate will reside in the region for the duration of the appointment.

The Department offers a highly recognized Master of Adult Education program (M.Ad.Ed.) and is considered a leader in adult education in Canada. Our course-based program attracts mid-career professionals working in an educational capacity with adults in not-for-profit, post-secondary education, health and health care, community development and government settings.
