Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Department Manager to lead our team in Columbia & Baltimore, MD. This is a leadership opportunity for someone looking to make an impact on both the people and business side of engineering. You’ll lead department operations, establish long-term goals, oversee project performance and profitability, support marketing efforts, and provide technical and management leadership to the team. You’ll also play an important role in employee development, helping team members grow while ensuring projects are properly staffed and positioned for success.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
• Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
• Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
• Develops marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
• Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge and expertise is required.
• Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects.
• Reviews monthly productivity and man-hour utilization-rates, reports and makes adjustments as needed.
• Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
• Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
• Oversees assigned staff development and advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years in related field.
• Professional licensure in area of expertise.
• Demonstrated effective leadership across large groups of employees.
• Strategic thinking.
• Effective delegation skills.
• Collaboration.
• Ability to hold others accountable.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
