Primary work location is Idaho Falls, with occasional assignments at Blackfoot Dental Clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Provide preventative, complex, and comprehensive dental care services
- Examine patients, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribe and/or carry out appropriate treatments
- Record patient-dentist transactions in the patient’s dental records
- Complete referrals, data collection instruments, and other records or paper work
- Ability to refer patients for specialty consultation or treatment if needed
- Educate patients in oral health related conditions and prevention
- Must be able to listen to concerns and suggestions and provide follow-up and feedback in a timely manner
- Ability to calm nervous patients
- Ability to respond effectively to patients of all ages
- Train and evaluate assigned staff remain calm and professional under pressure
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and resolve problems
- Potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks (i.e., Blood, Sharps, Needles), which requires following basic safety precautions
- Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require knowledge and understanding of OSHA protocols
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
- PHI (Protected Health Information) Compliance
- Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with CC Idaho, Joint Commission, OSHA and HIPAA regulations

Qualifications
Required
- DDS or equivalent from an accredited dental school
- Unrestricted dental license (D.D.S or D.M.D) to practice dentistry in the state of Idaho
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
- DEA registration
- Current CPR/1st Aid
- Successful clearance of general and DHS background checks
Preferred
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices
- Completion of an accredited general practice residency program
- Two years of professional dentistry experience and/or training
Required Physical Demands
- Is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms; grasping/holding
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Depth perception, normal visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to differentiate between colors
Work Environment
Work in an office setting; the work may be stressful; the noise level is moderate; exposed to x-ray equipment, nitrous oxide and oxygen gas tanks, dental chemical and pharmaceutical products and sterilization equipment
