The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in dentistry. Programs are available at the DMD level in general dentistry and at the master's level in endodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics. Dental Clinic Support employees are integral to that preparation, providing support to students across all preclinical and clinical activities, including but not limited to instrument supply, dispensary, sterilization, and simulation. In their first two years of study, students learn in a traditional classroom setting supplemented by simulation and lab experience. During their third and fourth years, students transition to providing patient care in a clinical setting. Dental Clinic Support staff directly support students as they progress toward completion of their pre-clinical and clinical requirements.
