How you make a difference

The Dental Operations Specialist provides guidance to operational teams in managing dental programs within correctional facilities and supports the development of operational goals, policies, and procedures. This role serves as a key communication hub for the dental division and coordinates meetings, documentation, and cross-functional resources to support dental initiatives. The position works closely with the Chief Dental Officer to implement and monitor strategic initiatives, evaluate program needs, and improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. Responsibilities include supporting compliance with ACA, NCCHC, state accreditation standards, and company policies and procedures. The role also assists with reporting, training activities, peer reviews, and the organization of division records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a central communication resource for the dental division, coordinating meetings, documenting discussions, and supporting cross-functional dental initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Dental Officer to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate strategic initiatives and operational goals for dental programs.
  • Assesses dental program needs across the organization and recommends improvements to operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and healthcare activities while maintaining compliance with ACA, NCCHC, state standards, and company requirements.
  • Organizes division records, prepares operational and financial reports, supports training and peer review activities, and participates in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

Experience

  • 2+ years of dental experience, including roles such as Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Required prior experience in a correctional setting.
  • 5+ years of experience in administrative, management, and supervisory roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational operations and strategic planning.

  • None required
