Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $94,500.00 Salary/year
Job Category: Health CareThe Dental Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the dental clinic within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. This role oversees Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) and Front Desk/Patient Access staff to ensure efficient clinic workflow, excellent patient experience, regulatory compliance, and high-quality dental care delivery. This role reports to the Director for Health Care Services and works together with the Managing Dentist to drive operational excellence, optimize productivity, and ensure all clinical and administrative processes align with FQHC standards, quality measures and organizational goals.
Clinic Operations & Patient Experience
· Oversee daily operations of the dental clinic to ensure efficient patient flow, adherence to schedules, and timely delivery of services.
· Monitor appointment templates, provider schedules, and room utilization to maximize productivity and reduce wait times.
· Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and availability of equipment, supplies, and sterilization processes.
· Ensure compliance/audits with OSHA, HIPAA, CDC infection control standards, state dental board regulations, and FQHC requirements.
· Support quality improvement (QI) initiatives, including tracking metrics, reviewing data, and executing practice transformation activities.
· Serve as an escalation point for patient concerns, working toward timely and effective resolution.
· Operate and set up mobile company vehicle participate in patient engagement.
· Other duties as assigned.
Staff Leadership, Development and Collaboration
· Supervise, train, support, and evaluate RDA and Front Desk staff, ensuring adherence to established workflows, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
· Partner with Managing Dentist, Providers, Billing, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve bottlenecks and improve efficiency and ensure continuity of care.
· Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.

Qualifications· Ability to perform the duties described above.
· Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience within a Dental Office setting.
· Experience and knowledge of Dental office workflows.
· Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Records preferred.
· Experience with mobile health services operations, including operating company vehicle preferred.
· Demonstrated initiative with helping, problem solve patient complaints.
· Understands protocols requiring clinical intervention.
· The capacity to teach, coordinate and lead exemplary customer service.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an clinic environment. A portion of work time may be spent performing at other facilities performing outreach and enrollment assistance activities.
