We’re looking for a friendly and motivated Dental Nurse to join the team at Artis Dental & Implant Studio in Balerno, Edinburgh, on a part-time basis (Monday-Thursday). We’re also happy to hear from candidates who are looking to begin their career in dentistry and would like to apply as a trainee.

The position

As a Dental Nurse, you’ll work closely with the clinical team to support the smooth running of the practice and provide effective chairside assistance throughout the day. The role will also involve supporting the reception team when needed.

If you are a trainee, you will complete your training alongside your day-to-day clinical work.

You’ll be an important part of ensuring patients receive a high standard of care, while working in line with the practice’s clinical procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant guidelines.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Helping patients feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed when they arrive at the practice.
• Using the practice management system, Software of Excellence, effectively to keep patient information and clinical records accurate and up to date.
• Preparing surgeries before each session and ensuring everything is ready for the next appointment, helping the practice operate efficiently.
• Working proactively with the dentist and wider clinical team by preparing the instruments, materials, equipment and laboratory work required for each patient.
• Keeping an eye on surgery supplies and ordering or replenishing stock when necessary to maintain appropriate levels.
• Providing reception cover when required, including answering calls, arranging and confirming appointments, dealing with patient queries and processing payments.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is caring, dependable and keen to contribute to a positive practice environment. Ideally, you will have:

• GDC registration if you are already qualified as a Dental Nurse.
• Previous experience within either a private or NHS dental practice is desirable for qualified candidates.
• A genuine commitment to providing patients with a consistently high standard of care.
• The confidence to work independently, while also being a supportive and collaborative member of the wider team.
• A positive and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to learn, develop and take on new skills.
