Dental Laboratory Processor Technician – Entry-Level Dental Lab Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Laboratory Processor Technician to join our dental laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level dental lab technician interested in developing hands-on skills in denture fabrication, dental prosthetics, and removable dental appliances.

The Processor Technician assists with essential dental laboratory procedures, including pouring dental impressions, creating and trimming plaster denture models, articulating dental cases, polishing dentures, and supporting overall laboratory production.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with their hands, has strong hand-eye coordination, and can work accurately in a fast-paced, team-oriented dental laboratory environment.

Job Purpose

Responsible for utilizing creative, mechanical, and hands-on abilities to assist in the design and production of dental prosthetics for patients in need. The Dental Lab Processor Technician supports the fabrication of dentures and removable dental prosthetics while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Pour dental impressions into plaster to create accurate denture models.
• Trim and prepare plaster dental models for further laboratory procedures.
• Articulate dental cases and prepare cases for denture fabrication.
• Polish and finish dentures according to established laboratory procedures.
• Assist with the production of complete dentures, partial dentures, and removable dental prosthetics.
• Perform various dental laboratory duties as assigned.
• Maintain an organized and efficient dental laboratory workstation.
• Follow established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Follow OSHA protocols and dental laboratory safety procedures.
• Cross-train in other areas of the dental laboratory as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dental laboratory technicians and team members to complete cases efficiently.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Hands-On & Technical Skills

• Confident and comfortable working with your hands.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Mechanical ability and/or artistic ability.
• Ability to learn dental laboratory techniques, equipment, materials, and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Environment & Teamwork

• Comfortable working in a team-oriented dental laboratory environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental lab while maintaining accuracy.
• Highly organized with good time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn and cross-train in multiple areas of the dental laboratory.
• Ability to follow instructions, established procedures, and laboratory safety standards.

Experience

• 0–6 months of experience trimming and pouring denture models preferred.
• Previous plaster bench experience preferred.
• Dental laboratory, dental assisting, manufacturing, crafts, mechanical, or other hands-on experience may be beneficial.
