Dental Hygienist will conduct initial patient examinations, prophylaxis, dental x-rays, polishing, fluoride treatment, advising patients on oral health and preventative care, paperless documentation of patient's medical history, vitals, and progress notes. The Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for the decontamination and sterilization of dental instruments as well as the decontamination of their treatment rooms. Our Dental Hygienist work collaboratively with our dental residents providing closely coordinated, interdependent, patient centered oral health care services. Policies and protocols of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and primary care center are followed by all team members.
Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene.
Licensed with current registration to practice in New York State.
Minimum of one year experience as a hygienist in a general dental practice or health care agency is preferred.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
Good communication skills. Excellent technical skills. Must be able to make independent and interdependent decisions. Must be able to handle emergency situations. Good time management skills.
Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I.
Medium work: requires standing, walking, sitting, and lifting.
All services, staff, physicians, patients, visitors, vendors, contractors, and various regulatory and professional agency staff.

Perdiem Rate: $55.05
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
