Job Description

ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is looking for a Dental Hygienist.

ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is located at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. For more than 60 years, the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Hospital Dentistry has provided high‑quality, low‑cost dental care to uninsured and underinsured members of the community. Services are delivered by dental residents who have completed dental school and are pursuing an additional year of hospital-based training. Care is closely supervised by dedicated volunteer community dentists and experienced faculty members.

Clinical services offered include:

  • Comprehensive restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, partials)
  • All phases of implant treatment
  • Endodontic services, including root canal and gum therapies
  • Pediatric dentistry


The Dental Hygienist is a licensed oral health professional who works collaboratively with dentists to deliver preventive care and promote long‑term oral health. In this role, the Dental Hygienist provides comprehensive dental cleanings, including the removal of plaque and tartar above and below the gumline, and performs preliminary examinations to identify conditions such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, and other oral health concerns. The Dental Hygienist educates patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and overall oral‑hygiene practices to support disease prevention. The Dental Hygienist also takes and develops dental X‑rays to support diagnostic decision‑making and applies preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants to help reduce the risk of cavities. Through a combination of clinical expertise, patient education, and preventive services, the Dental Hygienist plays a key role in improving patient outcomes and supporting overall oral wellness.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program
  • Current Delaware Dental Hygiene License
  • Current CPR certification

Hourly Pay Range: $35.39 - $56.63This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
