Dental Coordinator - Lead (Job Overview)

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the Dental EHR desktop, ensuring timely responses to flags and document routing for treatment coordinators and providers.
  • Provide support to Dental Patient Access Specialists by managing call volumes and promptly returning voice messages.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Site Operations and Front Desk teams, ensuring smooth dental scheduling and patient access.
  • Manage dental provider schedules, including rescheduling, confirming appointments, filling open slots, and accommodating new or canceled appointments.
  • Oversee hygiene recall lists by running monthly reports and scheduling follow-up appointments for patients due for hygiene care.
  • Run daily EHR inquiries for internal service orders, contact referred patients, schedule appointments, or add them to waitlists, while documenting all interactions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Dental Care Operations Manager, sharing updates, raising questions, and offering improvement suggestions.
  • Assist Dental Treatment Coordinators with scanning treatment plans and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate actively in team meetings to foster collaboration, share ideas, and support departmental goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the department and the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • Experience in a dental office and/or scheduling management preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
