Job Description

The Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB) is seeking an experienced, respected and highly professional dentist to join its Dental Consultant team in a part-time professional advisory role (two days per week).

This unique role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the dental profession beyond clinical practice by supporting dentists through complex professional, regulatory, clinical and dental-legal matters.

The position is ideally suited to a senior practitioner who combines clinical credibility with strong professional judgement, emotional intelligence, critical thinking and a genuine commitment to supporting colleagues.

About the Opportunity

As a Dental Consultant, you will be a trusted source of guidance and support for ADAVB members, and members of the public who are seeking assistance with:

• Professional and clinical concerns.
• Patient complaints.
• AHPRA and other regulatory and compliance matters.
• Professional risk management.
• Challenging professional situations.
• Ethical and practice-related dilemmas.

Working closely with ADAVB colleagues and our preferred insurer, you will assist members in navigating complex situations with confidence while supporting professional standards, member wellbeing and risk management outcomes.

Essential Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration in good standing.
• Minimum 15 years of clinical experience.
• Professional indemnity cover with Guild Insurance.
• Current membership of the Australian Dental Association.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative capability.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with professional peers.
• Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
