Smile Starters is a general dental practice serving children and young adults ages 1 through 20. We are dedicated to educating our patients on best practices for optimal oral health between visits. Responsibilities
Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism and warmth
Conduct pre- and post-operative patient consultations
Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort
Select, prepare, and arrange instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures
Sterilize instruments according to regulatory standards
Assist the dentist chairside using 4-handed dentistry
Perform lab-related tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked operatory
Schedule appointments and assist with payment procedures
Maintain accurate patient records
Support the dental team with other duties as assigned
Skills & Attributes
Proven experience as a dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks (e.g., coronal polishing) is a plus
Strong computer skills for scheduling and record-keeping
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
Thrives in a busy, active work environment
Additional certifications or training are an asset
Bilingual abilities a plus
Requirements
CPR Certification
Coronal Polishing Certification
Nitrous Oxide (N2O) Certification a plus
Graduate of an accredited dental assistant program
