About the Role
We are seeking a Substitute Dental Assistant Instructor to provide classroom and laboratory instruction on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for an experienced dental professional who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping students prepare for careers in dental assisting.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (as needed) OR 6 pm - 10 pm (As needed)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in accordance with established curriculum and lesson plans.
- Supervise students during laboratory activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Reinforce dental assisting skills, procedures, terminology, ethics, and professionalism.
- Monitor student performance and provide feedback to support learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate attendance and student records as required.
- Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Follow all college policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Program.
- Currently certified as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or licensed dentist.
- Proficient in four-handed and/or six-handed dentistry principles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, records, charts, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with instructional methods and techniques for dental assistant training.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt instruction to meet student needs.
- Ability to work independently and effectively use instructional technology and audio-visual equipment.
