About Coastal Dental Care Coolangatta

We're your local family practice at Airport Central in Bilinga, just down the road from Tugun. Our Coolangatta team is a mix of dentists, an oral health therapist and support staff who look after each other as well as our patients.

We're part of Coastal Dental Care, a dentist-owned network of 18 practices across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, so you get a close local team with a bigger network behind it.

About the role

We're adding a new casual role to our team: someone to look after the steri room every Tuesday and Wednesday. Clean, ready instruments keep the whole day on track, so this job matters more than it often gets credit for.

You'll own the full sterilisation cycle, from collecting used instruments to getting them back into the surgeries, and you'll keep our records accurate. If you've worked chairside before, there will be times you can lend a hand with our dentists, but steri is the focus.

Hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a 30-minute lunch break. That's 17 hours a week on a casual basis.

What you'll be doing

• Setting up and closing the steri room each day
• Cleaning, packaging, sterilising and storing instruments to our infection control protocols
• Recording and tracking every sterilisation cycle and load
• Turning over treatment rooms between patients
• Keeping surgeries stocked with instruments, materials and disposables for the day
• Looking after the steri equipment and flagging faults or low stock early
• Helping our dentists chairside when needed, if you have the experience

What we're looking for

Essential

• Experience with sterilisation and infection control, ideally in a dental practice
• A methodical way of working and close attention to detail
• Availability every Tuesday and Wednesday, 8.30am to 5.30pm
• A reliable, team-first attitude: the dentists and assistants count on you
• Willing to keep your infection control and first aid training current, and to meet our immunisation requirements

Preferred

Chairside dental assisting experience

Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting

Experience with Dental for Windows (D4W)
