People's Health & Dental Center - 2340 East 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201

Pay starting at $20/hour

What you’ll do as a Dental Assistant at HealthNet:

As directed by the dentist, assists dentist during dental examinations and treatment, and assists in scheduling appointments.

  • Greet and welcomes patients, escort patients to proper chair.
  • Perform preliminary procedures such as taking x-rays, review patients health history, pain scale assessment and taking blood pressure.
  • Take digital dental x-ray's including panoramic, bitewings, periapical, and occlusal.
  • Sterilization of operatory chairs, consoles, equipment, and instruments.
  • Complete referrals to specialists and consent forms.

When you’ll work as a Dental Assistant at HealthNet:

  • Full-Time
  • Mondays: 10am-7pm with lunch scheduled at 2-3pm
  • Tuesday - Fridays: 8am-5pm with lunch scheduled at 12-1pm

Requirements

What you’ll need as Dental Assistant at HealthNet:

  • Currently not sponsoring work visa.
  • Requires High school Diploma.
  • Certification from Accredited Dental Assisting program preferred.
  • Maintain a DANB certification.
  • Requires State of Indiana X-ray license.
  • Requires CPR certification.
  • Bilingual in Spanish Highly Preferred.

  • Customer service skills and positive attitude toward patients and team.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to experience repeated and prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending and squatting is required.
  • Ability to life, push, and or pull equipment, light to moderately heavy weight is required.

Physical Requirement:

  • Works primarily inside, in a normal dental office environment and hospital operatory setting.
  • Able to be involved in degrees of prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and stooping; as well as abilities of repeated bending, stooping and squatting.
  • Able to lift, push, and/or pull equipment, light to moderately heavy weight up to 20-30 pounds is a necessary function of this position.
  • Must be able to position and move patients following safety standards.
  • Able to perform duties during periods of varied and/or prolonged work hours.
  • Will be exposed to all patient elements.
  • Must have good eyesight with or without correction (20/30).
  • Must be able to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in the English language by both orally and written.
