Casual Dental Assistant | 1300SMILES Smithfield

Looking for a flexible casual opportunity with a supportive and professional dental team?

1300SMILES Smithfield, part of the Abano Healthcare Group, is seeking an experienced and reliable Casual Dental Assistant to join our friendly practice in Far North Queensland.

As a key member of our clinical team, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting our dentists to provide high-quality treatment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Dental Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in creating positive patient experiences.

• Chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures
• Prepare and sterilise instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
• Set up and maintain treatment rooms
• Provide excellent patient care and support before, during, and after treatment
• Maintain accurate clinical records
• Manage stock and clinical supplies
• Assist with basic reception duties when required
• Ensure the practice maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is advantageous.
• A strong understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A professional, reliable, and well-presented manner.
• A caring, positive, and patient-focused approach.

Hours & Availability

• Casual position
• Must be available to work weekdays between 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Able to work occasional Saturdays as part of a rotating roster.
