Delaware North Australia is hiring a casual Demi Chef to join our team at Mindil Beach Casino Resort in Darwin. As a Demi Chef, you will be showcasing your skills as part of an exceptional kitchen team, bringing new top-tier menu planning and design to life. You will be managing inventory control, ensuring compliance with hazard analysis and critical control points and food safety across our back-of-house operations. What you will do?

• Design, prepare, and present high-quality dishes with creative flair
• Develop menus, estimate food and labor costs, and secure food supplies while managing the departmental budget
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to hazard analysis and critical control points, and food safety
• Collaborate and assist team members with various kitchen duties, as well as engaging guests to enhance the first-class guest dining experience

More about you

• Diploma in Professional Cookery Level 5, or equivalent
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate is beneficial
• 2+ years’ experience monitoring food and labour cost, menu costing, and development
• Experience ordering inventory, as well as procedures including cost controls, and handling invoices
• Ability to work a variety of shifts over a 7-day-a-week roster
