Job Description

The Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods in line with the kitchen standards. This role involves assisting the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie in daily operations, ensuring all pastries are produced to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The Demi Chef de Partie will also maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

• Assist in the preparation, baking, and decoration of a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, and bread.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Pastry Chef.
• Ensure that all pastry items meet the kitchen’s quality standards in terms of appearance, taste, and texture.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food hygiene and safety standards.
• Assist in managing stock and ingredients, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff and departments to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Monitor and report on equipment malfunctions and assist in maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Stay updated with industry trends and experiment with new recipes or techniques to enhance the pastry menu.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices as required.

Desired Skill & Expertise

• Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience, with a strong focus on Pastry.
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on skills in food preparation and cooking techniques.
• A diploma in culinary arts or relevant certifications/training is preferred.
• Possession of a valid food safety certification is required.
