Demand Planner

The role:

The purpose of this role is to control inventory and plan the demand for the Rock Tools Region Central Africa.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Lead the area Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings for areas of responsibility.
  • Collect forecast data, perform gap, or trend analysis, and recommend process improvements.
  • Communicate and collaborate the forecasting and inventory management data with the regional key stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback and make recommendations to regions to ensure orders are created according to the forecast.
  • Provide support to internal departments to improve inventory management.
  • Maintain inventory parameters in collaboration with regional manager for all responsible stockrooms.
  • Perform replenishment planning based on the forecast.
  • Release orders according to system requisitions and customer orders.
  • Manage expediting requests from regions.
  • Perform detailed inventory analysis opportunities and optimize inventory levels.
  • Work with all relevant stakeholders to establish both short- and long-term inventory strategies
  • Monitor indicators related to inventory (Fill rate, Obsolete Slowing-Moving Inventory, Days-In Inventory (DII), Order Fulfillment Lead Time (OFLT), Forecast accuracy, Airfreight etc.).
  • Provide back up support to team members when required.

Your profile:

  • Matric/equivalent qualification
  • BCom Supply Chain Management qualification
  • Knowledge of S&OP process
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in root cause analysis
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to implement and own process changes
  • Good presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with any forecasting tools
  • Valid drivers' license
