Feeding billions of people starts with one crucial question: how much do we need, where and when? As a Demand Planner at Syngenta Seeds, you are the one who answers that question. You translate commercial insights and market data into reliable forecasts, steer Sales & Operations Planning(S&OP) processes and ensure that supply chain and business are always aligned. A role with real impact, for someone who combines analytical sharpness with strategic overview.

Accountabilities

As a Demand Planner, you are responsible for steering the demand planning process for the Western Europe Commercial Unit. You ensure that forecasts are accurate, inventory levels are optimal and that strategic decision-making is supported by reliable data.

You lead the monthly demand review process and coordinate alignment between the commercial, marketing and supply chain teams. Together with stakeholders, you develop robust 5-year plans that connect to Syngenta's global strategy. You are the link between data and decision-making. In practice, your work includes:

  • Leading and coordinating the monthly and annual forecast cycles Western Europe, in line with global S&OP guidelines
  • Monitoring forecast accuracy in SAP and analyzing variances to drive continuous improvement
  • Reporting on KPIs and proactively proposing improvement initiatives
  • Facilitating the Western Europe demand review process, including meeting minutes and follow-up actions
  • Providing analytical support to commercial and marketing teams for ad-hoc requests

You are willing to travel approximately 15–20% of your time to work closely with stakeholders across Europe.

Qualifications

Required

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in demand planning, supply chain or commercial operations, with proven experience in S&OP processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, SAP (ERP/IBP), Power BI or Tableau and preferably experience with AI-driven forecasting
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear insights and well-founded recommendations
  • Strong communication skills to connect and convince diverse stakeholders – from local to global
  • A structured way of working, maintaining overview in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • APICS (CSCP, CPIM) or ISM (CPSM) certification is a plus
