The Warehouse Group (TWG) has become a Kiwi household name, and we proudly recognise the role that we play in communities throughout New Zealand. We are the largest general merchandise retailer in NZ across The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery & Noel Leeming. We are at an exciting point in our journey where our focus is on becoming brand-centric, aiming to deliver an unparalleled experience for our customers. Agility and collaboration are cornerstones of our work culture, empowering us to adapt swiftly and work seamlessly together. By being brand-led and retail-focused, we are intentional about placing the right people in the right roles, allowing us to perform work that truly makes a difference.
As we continue to invest in our customer experience and optimise stock availability, we have an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner to join our dynamic team and shape the future of demand planning at TWG using the latest machine learning technology.
As part of this transformation, we’re looking for a Demand Planner who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments — someone who can bring a strong FMCG mindset to retail and make a real impact on how we plan for and serve our customers.
This role offers a great opportunity to work cross-functionally with our Commercial, Buying, and Planning teams to ensure we have the right product, in the right place, at the right time – keeping our shelves stocked and our customers happy.
In this role, you will:
Support our customer missions by ensuring maximum potential availability of our continuity lines, balancing customer demand with stock flow efficiency.
Own unit-level demand forecasting and proactively manage inventory through RELEX, addressing exceptions (e.g., forecast errors, days of cover) to mitigate overstocks and stock outs.
Collaborate across teams and drive promotional forecast meetings alongside Buyers, Planners, and Suppliers, optimising stock flow and resolving blockers.
Analyse clearance proposals weekly and provide insights to Commercial Planners, ensuring the best commercial outcomes.
Monitor seasonal impacts, adjusting forecasts based on long-range trends, weather patterns, and event shifts, and communicating exceptions clearly with stakeholders.
You’ll be part of a fast-paced retail environment where no two days are the same. We’re looking for someone who is commercially savvy, detail-oriented, and thrives on collaboration. You’ll be naturally curious, driven by continuous improvement, and confident in balancing data analysis with stakeholder engagement.
We’re after someone who can demonstrate:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable outcomes.
Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, or replenishment, ideally within a retail or FMCG environment.
Solid understanding of order management, stock flow processes, and supplier collaboration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
RELEX knowledge (advantageous).
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decision-making across teams.
A customer-centric mindset with the agility to adapt to change and embrace new ways of working.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and high-performing team within a business committed to making a real difference for our customers and communities. This is a permanent opportunity to shape a strategically important category, where you can bring your expertise, creativity, and commercial skills to the forefront.

The Warehouse Group (TWG) is a New Zealand success story, founded by Sir Stephen Tindall and evolved from a single The Warehouse store to become one of the largest retailing groups in New Zealand with $3 billion in sales. TWG consists of three core retail brands: The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. We have over 180 retail stores, online stores as well as distribution centres throughout New Zealand. We also have two overseas sourcing offices located in China and India. We are a people-centred business with more than 10,000 team employees across our locations.
TWG is known for being Here for Good - it’s who we are and what keeps us focused to succeed. It represents our commitment to better living for all New Zealanders, through sustainable retail products and practices and the mission of contributing to the long-lasting health of our planet.
Over the years, we’ve raised over 50 million dollars for New Zealand communities and have contributed to countless community-focussed initiatives. We were the first company in New Zealand to add a Shielded Site link to the Women's Refuge website to help protect those experiencing family violence, and were a key supporter of the Government’s Family Violence Victims’ Protection Bill. We were New Zealand’s first large company and the third major retailer in the world to go carbon neutral.
While we are 40+ years old as a business, in many ways we feel we’re just getting started.
