Location: On-Site in Arbuckle, CA through late 2025, after which it will transition to Sacramento, CA in early 2026

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand forecasts to support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This role ensures an accurate understanding of market demand across all product lines and customers, aligning sales, marketing, finance, and operations to drive efficient production, inventory, and service outcomes. The Demand Planner plays a key role in balancing customer service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update SKU-level demand forecasts using historical data, customer inputs, and market intelligence.
  • Lead the monthly demand review process within the S&OP cycle, ensuring alignment between sales, operations, and finance.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and key account managers to incorporate promotions, seasonal trends, and new product launches into demand plans.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and service performance; identify root causes for variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Translate demand plans into actionable insights for production, procurement, and inventory management teams.
  • Support the development of volume projections for financial forecasting and budget planning.
  • Analyze customer order patterns, market data, and distribution trends to anticipate shifts in demand.
  • Generate demand planning reports and dashboards to communicate performance, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve demand planning tools, data accuracy, and system parameters within ERP or forecasting software.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to balance inventory, capacity, and service objectives while supporting company growth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the S&OP process.



Qualifications



Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics, preferably within the food, agriculture, or CPG industries.
  • Experience working in cross-functional S&OP environments involving sales, production, and finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts) and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft NAV, SAP, NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with demand planning or forecasting tools and statistical modeling techniques.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in data management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functional teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Customer- and results-oriented with a proactive, professional approach.
  • Comfortable presenting data-driven insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.

Preferred

Qualifications:

  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or similar supply chain certification.
  • Experience with statistical forecasting models or advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, R)
  • Knowledge of co-manufacturing and multi-site production environments

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based environment with collaboration across operations, production, and commercial teams.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 5%) to company facilities or customer sites.
  • May require occasional travel (up to 5%) to production facilities or co-manufacturing partners.
  • Typical business hours, with occasional flexibility during month-end or S&OP review cycles.
  • Extended screen time and use of data systems or planning tools.
