This position leads, develops, implements, and continuously improves a best-in-class demand and supply planning organisation across ANZ. Overall responsibilities include managing projects and activities relating to demand forecasting, new product launches, product line transfers, end of life (EOL) product life cycle planning, purchasing and inventory management. Also, monitoring the performance and training needs of the team and fulfilling the team aspiration and on job training requirement.

Core Job

  • Fully responsible for leading the demand and supply planning function in the country.

  • Provide leadership and partner with key stakeholders within the local and regional APAC supply chain teams to drive process improvement and meet business demands across new product launches, product line transfers, end of life (EOL) product lifecycle planning, purchasing, and inventory management.

  • Redefine systems, processes, and organizational structures to maximize forecast accuracy, financial savings, and consensus forecast process health (directly aligning commercial dollars ($'s) to units).

  • Develop strategies for improving operation efficiencies and inventory turns while improving service levels and optimizing inventory levels as well as operation costs.

  • Collaborate with other functions such as sales/marketing, finance, RA/QA, IT, and Global Planners to integrate business processes, manage backorders, and develop solutions.

  • Prepare inventory, scrap, operations cost forecasts, and budget recommendations for management, establishing appropriate inventory control and LBE targets.

  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to demand forecasting, inventory processes, and operations. Measure actual performance (including Forecast Accuracy, DOH, Scrap, and Line Fill Rate) against goals on a regular basis and present results to senior management.

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.


People Management and Development

  • Lead, develop, and manage an effective, engaged, and motivated team, including direct management of the Demand and Supply Planning Specialist.

  • Maintain a supportive, collaborative working environment in line with Abbott core values.

  • Address any conflict or potential issues sensitively and as they arise and in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate and oversee employee training and devel

  • opment, equipping the team with the resources available at Abbott to support their careers.

  • Review, assess, and action requests such as leave approvals and expense management, ensuring company policy is adhered to.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and hold others accountable.

  • Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain Management or similar field – highly desirable

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in demand/supply planning and complex analytical and numerical roles.

  • Experience in dealing with a large number of SKUs

  • Developed knowledge of inventory management software (SAP), spreadsheets and databases and be proficient in computer-based programs specifically Excel.

Desirable

  • Project Management Qualification – highly desirable

  • Developed knowledge of SAP APO(SNP/DP)

  • Experience developing of Power Bi dashboard.

  • Excellent relationship management skills

  • High level of analytical skills

  • Enthusiastic self-starter
