Job Description

The Team:

The Deloraine District Hospital is a 20 bed Acute care facility that includes Palliative Care and General Medical Care. The Hospital coordinates the delivery of a broad range of community and allied services within the Meander Valley. We strive to deliver personalised care in a calm, welcoming and warm environment while being innovative and having a can-do attitude. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Meander Valley community.

The Role:

  • Improve access and awareness of Community shed programs and activities within the community, including working with other service providers and non-government in the local community to ensure optimum utilisation of available resources.
  • In conjunction with other health team members, participate in health promotion and community development activities within Deloraine and the surrounding district.
  • Maintain client profiles and records of attendance and provide timely and accurate reports as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant trade related skills (woodworking) or completion of a recognised trade qualification.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of quality management and workplace safety principles and the practical application of these principles in a workshop environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, together with the capacity to establish a rapport with clients and members of the public and maintain client confidentiality.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 50 hours per fortnight, 27 April 2026until 29 October 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
