Job Description

The purpose and objective of this position is to effectively recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, counsel and supervise delivery personnel, to ensure that the departmental and company goals of making timely, and accurate deliveries in a professional and safe manner.

• Responsible for day-to-day departmental matters and working with Supervisor staff to make sure daily objectives and tasks are completed and their teams are operating efficiently.
• Supervisory responsibilities for delivery personnel (Including Annual Evaluations).
• Communicates openly, professionally, and effectively with all drivers and Sales team.
• Hire and train qualified drivers as well as cross training.
• Ensure all drivers are appropriately trained in all job duties as well as safety and legal responsibilities.
• Daily scheduling of delivery personnel (Including Vacations / Sick Time)
• Daily routing of all delivery drivers and trucks
• Vehicle Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections
• All fleet related tasks including minor Repairs and Maintenance and Mileage
• Managing accurate Time and Attendance Records.
• Reporting all vehicle accidents as well as Workers Comp. injuries timely.
• Investigate all accidents, track causes and take appropriate preventable actions.
• Conduct regular safety meetings.
• All Delivery Deposits, Product Returns and Driver Route Sheets.
• Duties will also include T+A and Timesheet submission, AR resolution filing,
• Run delivery routes as needed.
• Other duties assigned

• Minimum of 1 year delivery experience

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must be knowledgeable of Huntsville Al and surrounding areas

• Routing experience preferred

• Must have and be able to maintain DOT Medical certification

• Must have and be able to maintain valid alabama drivers licnese

• CDL License & experience a plus

• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

• Must be able to communicate with people of all levels

• Must be able to work flexible hours

• Business needs may dictate the need for supervisor to run and complete deliveries for an assigned route,supervisor must be prepared to deliver/complete a route if necessary.

• Must have basic mathmatical skills and operate a calculator

• Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…).

• Acceptable motor vehicle record

• Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph)
• Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years
• Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years
