We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards. General:

  • Dailyoperation and driving of a power unit(Class 8 tractors and lower)for chemical distribution.

  • Job requirementswillinclude transport of HAZMATandnon-hazardousmaterials.This is both liquid and dry material.

  • Requirements willincludemovements to satisfyoutside delivery (customers/vendors),inplantmovements (spotting),and/orinter-companybranch transfers.Types of deliveries are:

  • Bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials that will include loading and offloading of materials from appropriate trailer configurations. Drivers will participate in the loading/unloading process using pumps, air, etc. to move product.Process will include management of entire process including transport, proper transfer and delivery of product,securement after completion, and execution of all applicable paperwork

  • Packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers in liquid form. Palletized material (dry or liquid) and supersacks(dry)of product Process will include management of entire process including transport, proper transfer and delivery of product, securement after completion, and execution of all applicable paperwork.

  • Candidate must operate a tractor,trailer, or applicable service vehiclein asafe and efficientmannerDriver must complywith allapplicableDOT, OSHA, andsite-specificrules and regulationsduring the performance of job functions. This isincluding,but not limited to,site and driversafety, packaging, labeling, marking, loadingunloading, placarding, pre-inspection, daily logs,andreporting repairs.

  • Candidate mustfollow allBrenntagoperating proceduresand work instructions. In addition, the candidate mustfollowall safety policies and procedureswhileon a customervendor site

  • Certification to operate pallet jacks (electric or manual) is a requirement.If required by the location, be certified to operate a forklift and applicable accessories.Must be able to operate dock locks, dock levelers, and additional applicable equipmentfor delivery/pickup of material

  • Candidate must properly care forall assigned equipment This includes all ELDs,virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units on all tractors and trailers.Must maintain good housekeepingon the equipment and ensure it is in good working order prior to use.

  • Candidate mustremain in communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma,general education degree (GED),or US military experience.

  • Candidates with priorexperiencein working with chemicaldeliverymay be consideredif education or service requirements are not fully met

  • Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ)for employment.

  • Driving: Must Possess:

  • a Class "A" CDL with Tanker,Bulk,and/or Hazmat Endorsement (as required for role).

  • a currentDOTmedical card

  • Ifyour position hasPFT requirements to wear a respirator, cannot have any facial hair that may interfere with arespirator.

  • current TWIC card or show proof of application in process (if location requires)

  • ability to drive amanualtransmission.

  • Driving: Preferred if have:

  • aminimum of 1 yearliquid bulk hauling experienceor aminimum of 3 years commercial truck driving experience

  • certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy

Other Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

  • Comfortable withgeneral warehouse duties andthe use ofapplicable equipment.

  • Detailand customer oriented with good organizational skills

  • Complete all training as required.

  • Observe,follow,and enforce all company policies and procedures.

  • Always represent the company in a professional manner

  • Ability to read, comprehend andconductdetailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units ofmeasure.

  • Ability to learn and operatetechnology-baseddevices such assmart phones, tablets,transportation platforms (e.g.,Samsara)toconductnormalsafety, compliance, andbusiness operations.

  • Must be willing to operate power units that utilize advanced camera and safety systems (i.e.,Samsara) for compliance purposes.

  • Must reside local to area(withinsixtymiles) No lodging provided

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Must passE-verifycheck

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibility.

Physical Requirements

  • Must pass a pre-employmentDOT fit-for-duty exam

  • Must be able to sitanddrivefor long hours

  • Must be able to step into and out of equipment safely.

  • Must be able to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while performing loading/delivery tasks.

  • Lifting ability up to 75 pounds

  • Frequently pushes, pulls, or movesup to150pounds.

  • Must be able to wear a respirator(if required for role)and all other personal protective equipment

  • Must be able to load and unload hazardous material.

  • Must be able to climbladder.
