The St. Charles Campus Labor and Delivery Unit welcomes more than 1,500 new lives each year. We are proud to offer care that is technologically advanced, yet highly personalized. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers quality care for high-risk babies, including premature infants born at 32 weeks or later and babies born with low birth weight. In addition, St. Charles Campus specializes in “couplet care,” which sets it apart from traditional maternity nursing care.

Our Delivery Room Tech will:

  • Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the Delivery Room.
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Set up and prepare rooms for surgical procedures, scrub in on cases, and perform counts according to hospital policy. Initiate appropriate procedure for incorrect counts.
  • Clean rooms and instruments, and restock supplies within the department.
  • Assist in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for the procedure.
  • Check that instrumentation and equipment are in working order.
  • Maintain aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention.
  • Correctly handle and identify surgical specimens.
  • Safely dispose of biohazardous material.
  • Actively participate in room turnover between cases.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide basic nursing care to patients
  • Perform EKGs and basic vital sign intake
  • Ability to transfer patients to other units when needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

What you'll bring:

  • 1-2+ Years of Surgical Tech experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in the Delivery Room setting preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the Association of Surgical Technologists required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.



Salary Range

USD $42.01 - USD $52.52 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
