Project Overview:

Bechtel Infrastructure has been appointed as the Delivery Partner (DP) within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprising the customer, Metrolinx and its Technical Authority (TA) for the Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project. The project scope includes the design build, operation and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being delivered through three major Public Private Partnership (P3) contracts and multiple Early and Advanced works (EAW) contracts. The OLS Project is planned to open for revenue service in 2031. As the DP, Bechtel forms a key part of the overall leadership of the OLS Project.

The Delivery Manager EGS is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Elevated Guideway and associated stations on the OL Project. The Delivery Manager will work directly with the PCo senior managers and coordinate with the other PDT directors, reporting to the EGS Director. #LI-JL1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budget, schedule, and resources to facilitate successful project completion, handover, and closeout within established constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project success and develop and communicate contingency plans as necessary.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management, project sponsors, and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and project specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and motivate a diverse team of project professionals, including engineers, construction professionals, and other support staff.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and take corrective action as needed to keep the project on track.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with the contractor to influence execution approach and commercial strategy.
  • As the Delivery Partner lead, responsible for leading the DP resources, leading the development of the deliverables required under the DP contract.
  • Zipper with the EGS PCo directors.
  • Reviewing and approving input to DP progress report for assigned scope.
  • Interfacing with Ontario Line RSSOM P# contract teams for systems coordination and delivery.
  • Interfacing with Ontario Line South Civils P3 contract teams for systems coordination and delivery.
  • Interfacing with Ontario Line North Civils contract teams for systems coordination and delivery.
  • Interfacing with Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for Ontario Line systems coordination and delivery.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13+ years of relevant experience or 17+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 13 years of experience in roles on related infrastructure, transit, and rail construction projects.
  • Experience in and strong technical knowledge of heavy civils, bridge construction and station construction
  • Experience working on a Target Price contract model is preferable
  • Technical knowledge and experience of relevant construction methods and systems, including guideway construction systems and station installation.
  • Understanding of the application and requirements of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations as they relate to the area of responsibility.
  • Prior experience supervising and administering contractors in a project director or project manager capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks that could impact project success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zero Accident safety program.
