Job Description

Job Title: Delivery Manager

Location: Canada / Remote

As a Delivery Manager, you will have experience in Agile delivery in a global context across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ideally for the general insurance, property & casualty, life, pensions, and/or annuities markets.

Your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Deliver the software on time, on scope, on quality, and on budget, using the appropriate Agile project management methodology, and ensure full customer satisfaction as defined in the SOW.
  • Meeting tight timelines and motivating the team to meet project deadlines.
  • Managing the project’s end-to-end life-cycle activities, including analysis & design, development, testing, implementation, and integration.
  • Managing the project’s scheduling, resource planning, budget & time tracking.
  • Work closely with the customer and the project team to define the gaps for any given requirement and translate them into user stories.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, facilitate status meetings and present to large groups.
  • Identify problems, mediate issues, develop solutions, and implement an appropriate course of action.
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, and integration teams to ensure delivery is smooth and customer centric.
  • Leadership and management of project delivery teams in a distributed global environment, including development and cross-training of the team to further improve technical and business knowledge to help us achieve exceptional results.
  • Collaborating across departments to optimize and streamline operational processes
  • Monitors key delivery metrics and provides timely, data-driven status updates to leadership and stakeholders to ensure transparency and informed decision-making

Requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years of proven experience working in a large software development, with teams distributed across the globe.
  • In-depth understanding and experience of the management of the software development life cycle (SDLC) from the initiation of a project plan to full execution.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of negotiating with customers and clients regarding scope and delivery schedules.
  • Experience managing dispersed delivery teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Waterfall and mainly in Agile delivery and tools (JIRA experience – Advantage).
  • Familiarity with insurance domain / financial services – Advantage
  • 15%-20% travel
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
  • Additional languages – Advantage
